The Global Deep Tech Awards program will bring selected startups to the main stage of NORDEEP on September 16 to 17, 2026, in Espoo, Finland. This showcase, powered by SiRA, is designed for companies with technically complex technologies to present to investors and corporate leaders. The program is presented as the Global Deep Tech Showcase at NORDEEP, and participating companies are evaluated through a structured assessment process before being selected for the stage. For more detailed event information, see our fixtures.

Rather than a conventional pitch, the format is strict. Companies get three minutes to demonstrate their technology and explain the underlying science or engineering approach. This is followed by two minutes of questions from a specialized jury.

Presentation and Jury Format

The jury format blends technical and commercial perspectives. Panels will include deep tech venture capitalists and angel investors. They will sit alongside academic researchers, applied scientists, and corporate technology leaders or innovation buyers.

Companies must state a clear commercial objective at the end of their presentation. According to the source, this could include seeking investment, corporate pilot partners, manufacturing support, or distribution opportunities.

Technology Areas Covered

The program will cover eight specific areas of deep technology. The goal is to provide a structured route from technical evaluation to exposure within the wider ecosystem. These areas include deep tech commercialisation and scale; quantum and future computing; chips, photonics and AI infrastructure; physical AI and robotics; life sciences and engineered biology; energy, materials and circular industry; security, resilience and dual-use technologies; and space systems and Earth intelligence. For a breakdown of participating entities, you can check our squad page.

Benefits and Application Process

Selected companies receive specific benefits. These include a five-minute main-stage slot and an investor-led Q&A session. They also get inclusion in the official NORDEEP program and a public SiRA profile. They may be considered for the event’s Discovery Zone and for recognition through the Global Deep Tech Awards.

Applications for the showcase are open until September 7 at 14:00 EEST. Selected companies are expected to be notified on September 11. Final presentation materials and technical requirements are due on September 14.

The showcase will occur during NORDEEP’s fifth anniversary edition. The event aims to bring together founders, investors, corporate leaders, and researchers from the deep tech ecosystem. For performance metrics and outcomes, refer to our stats section. Participation does not guarantee investment, meetings, pilots, or other commercial outcomes.
