Common questions

Who is Graft and Grit written for?

Founders in Europe, organised by the stage they are at and the decision that stage forces on them. Stages is the spine, with Funding, Building and Running alongside it, and Ecosystems covering the differences between countries and cities.

Does the site give business or legal advice?

No. It reports what has been published about funding, hiring, structures and rules, and none of that is advice for your company. A decision with tax, employment or company law in it needs a professional who can see your actual position.

Which sources sit behind an article?

From named business and technology publications, company announcements and public registers, summarised with the source credited and linked. A round size or a valuation belongs to whoever reported it, and the piece says who that was.

Are there real writers?

Articles are written with automated assistance and published with no individual byline, crediting the source publication in place of an author. Sources and methods sets this out. Nobody here is presented as an investor or an operator with a track record.

How do corrections work?

They are made on the article, with a dated note at the foot recording what changed, and substantive ones are collected on the Corrections page. To report one, that page asks for the article address and the claim you are disputing.

Does reading the site leave a trace?

Not with us. There are no cookies, no analytics and no third-party requests, so nothing about your visit is collected or shared. Your theme choice is stored in your own browser only.
