Navisalma launches €450m deep-tech fund

Navisalma, a new venture firm founded by Einride co-founders Robert Falck and Linnéa Kornehed Falck, together with former McKinsey partner Robert Westerdahl, aims to raise €450m to invest in European deep-tech startups over the next three years.

Founders and Structure

The firm is led by Falck, who serves as CEO, and Westerdahl, who is a founding partner. Falck and Kornehed Falck are married. Navisalma is still in its early stages; the funds have not yet been raised, but the founders have already secured a seed-level capital package.

Investment Strategy

Navisalma intends to focus on deep-tech sectors such as robotics, AI-driven energy systems, and other frontier technologies. The firm’s press release states that it will back “10 new global leaders over the next 10 years”. It emphasizes Europe’s engineering, design, industrial excellence and quality as a competitive advantage, arguing that the continent does not need to replicate Silicon Valley.

Navisalma plans to raise an initial €40m within the next month, most of which has already been secured from the founders and other investors. This seed capital will cover operational costs and seed investments. After that, the firm will seek to raise the remaining €450m for investment purposes, though it has not disclosed further details on potential investors.

Early Moves and First Investment

The firm has already made a seed investment in Swedish startup Abundry, which uses AI to improve the performance of energy systems. Westerdahl described Navisalma’s role as a “Venture Platform” that connects technological ambition with execution and value-creation discipline, working alongside existing owners and investors to help frontier technology reach industrial scale.

The founders highlighted Europe’s exceptional capital ecosystem, stating that Navisalma’s opportunity is not to replace it but to add another capability. The firm’s approach is to build global leaders by combining frontier technology with Europe's strengths in engineering, design, industrial excellence and quality.
