Arcos raises €5.5M seed round for security

German security technology company Arcos has raised €5.5 million in seed funding. The capital will be used to expand its platform for monitoring and responding to security incidents at physical sites.
The funding round included High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF), Bayern Kapital, Pact, Haufe, Robin Capital and strategic business angels. According to the source, HTGF's investors include the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and KfW Capital.
Arcos is developing a platform that combines signals from connected sensors into a single operational system. This system is designed to help operators monitor diverse sites from a single control centre.
The Platform's Purpose
The company targets a specific industry challenge. Organisations are deploying more sensors but face shortages of operational staff. Arcos aims to unify processes that are often handled by separate systems.
Its platform brings monitoring, decision-making and incident management together. Incidents are detected, assessed, escalated and documented within the same system.
Founder Louis Wübben framed the problem. "This industry helps decide whether the country functions, and it is changing faster than ever before," he said. "More sensors, fewer people. What is missing is someone who looks. That is exactly what we are building."
Integrated Development and Operation
Arcos develops and operates both the software platform and the control centre infrastructure. The company claims this integrated approach allows for continuous updates based on real-world incidents.
Its operations, engineering and product teams can adjust workflows directly. This avoids reliance on separate software vendors.
Moritz Steigerwald, another founder and managing director, highlighted this advantage. As a result, we see immediately in daily operations where workflows need to improve, and we can implement those improvements ourselves, he said.
Market Application and Growth Plans
The platform is designed to work across different types of sites. The same processes and software can be applied to residential, commercial and critical infrastructure environments.
These environments include railway stations, substations, data centres, construction sites, and commercial properties.
The new funding will be used to expand Arcos' team in Germany. It will also fund further platform development and prepare for growth in the critical infrastructure market. The company plans to expand into additional European markets.
