Velatir, a Danish AI startup, has secured €5 million in seed funding to expand its platform across Europe

Velatir, an Odense-based AI infrastructure company, has raised €5 million in seed funding in a round co-led by Spintop Ventures and existing investor Ugly Duckling Ventures. The funding round also includes investments from Norrsken Evolve, angel investors Jan Oberhauser and Thomas Visti, as well as a match loan from the Danish Export and Investment Fund.
Company Overview
Velatir develops infrastructure designed to help companies monitor and manage the use of AI across employees, AI agents, devices, and systems. The company's platform combines usage visibility, data-flow monitoring, and policy controls, providing companies with a single system to manage AI use. According to Christian Møller, COO & Co-founder at Velatir, the company built its platform on European-owned and hosted infrastructure from the beginning, prioritizing data sovereignty and reducing reliance on US-based hyperscale cloud providers.
Platform Features
Velatir's platform brings together AI usage monitoring, data-flow visibility, security, and policy controls. Companies can use the platform to see which AI tools are being used across their organization, how data is moving through those tools, the associated costs, and the level of maturity of different AI deployments. The platform also provides centralized controls for setting and enforcing policies around AI use. Velatir maintains an AI App Store with over 4,000 AI tools, giving organizations visibility into the expanding range of AI applications available to their employees and teams.
Investment and Expansion
The new funding will be used to expand Velatir's platform across Europe and grow its team. As noted by Michael Sørensen, CEO & Co-founder at Velatir, the company's mission is to enable any company to become AI-native. The investment round was led by Spintop Ventures and Ugly Duckling Ventures, with participation from Norrsken Evolve and angel investors. According to Helen Agering, Partner at Spintop Ventures, Velatir has the potential to define a new category in enterprise AI.
Founder and Investor Perspectives
The founding team at Velatir brings experience across technology infrastructure, defence, robotics, financial regulation, AI compliance, and software product development. As stated by Louise Lachmann, General Partner at Ugly Duckling Ventures, Velatir has the team, timing, and ambition to become a defining European AI company.
