DOD Solution has raised $2.1 million in a pre-seed funding round to advance its AURA AI onboard autonomy platform for unmanned systems. The Estonian-Ukrainian defence technology company announced the round in 2026, with investment from a consortium of angel and venture capital funds and strategic investor Draganfly, a Canadian drone technology company.

Investors in the pre-seed round include Angel One Fund, Better Angle, Defence Builder Fund, Network VC, Newfund, UAID Fund, WildField Ventures, and 4C-Next Holding AG.

AURA AI enables autonomy in GPS-denied environments

DOD Solution’s flagship product is the AURA AI platform. It combines an onboard computer, the AURA SBC, with a proprietary autonomy software stack called AURA OS. This system enables unmanned aerial vehicles to handle, perceive their surroundings, recognize and track targets, and conduct terminal guidance even when GPS signals or communications are jammed or unavailable.

The technology has already been proven in combat in Ukraine. It is designed for integration into various UAV types, including first-person-view drones, interceptor drones, and fixed-wing aircraft. This flexibility is a core philosophy for the company. CEO Roman Hapachylo stated, "Autonomy needs to work across different unmanned systems and operational environments, rather than remain a capability tied to a single platform."

Funding targets scaled production and market expansion

The new capital will be directed toward several key objectives to scale the business. A primary focus is putting the next-generation AURA SBC onboard computer into scaled production. This new version is supported by a robust component supply chain and is being developed to meet U.S. National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) compliance requirements.

Achieving NDAA compliance is a critical step for DOD Solution’s planned expansion into regulated European and North American markets. The funding will also support advancing the AURA OS software and its AI capabilities. Also, it will fuel efforts to expand integrations with unmanned platform manufacturers, both within Ukraine and in international markets.

The company, founded in 2023, has already established a network of technology and industry partnerships to support this growth. These collaborations span critical areas including onboard computing, AI acceleration, and integrated counter-drone capabilities. Partners include Lantronix, Axelera AI, and Defsecintel Solutions.

DOD Solution will use the funding to put the next-generation AURA SBC into scaled production.
