Tallia has raised €4 million in seed funding to accelerate its AI-driven tax advisory platform for accounting firms. The London-based startup, founded in 2025 by Jack Mander and Alexander Bartlam, uses AI to generate accurate, traceable drafts for tax professionals.

Tallia's platform connects external tax knowledge with a firm's internal expertise by linking to existing documents, contracts, templates, and previous work. It uses a custom retrieval system to connect AI-generated responses with relevant tax authorities, legislation, regulatory guidance, and case law for verification. The system incorporates structured review workflows, allowing senior professionals to examine the reasoning and supporting evidence behind AI-generated work. It was founded to address how to use generative AI to accelerate research and drafting without compromising accuracy, traceability, and professional judgement.

The platform supports workflows across Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Teams using it save an average of five hours per fee earner each week, and the system can produce a fully cited first draft in an average of 30 seconds.

Seed Funding Fuels Platform Expansion

Tallia secured €4 million ($4.5 million) in seed funding in 2026. The round was co-led by Outward VC and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), with participation from Portfolio Ventures, Expedite Capital, Paul Forster, Angus Miln, and several angel investors. Tallia intends to use the capital to expand adoption of its platform among tax and accountancy firms and to scale across major accounting practices.

Outward VC stated it is "delighted to support co-founders Jack Mander and Alex Bartlam, building trusted AI systems for ambitious tax teams."

Market Context and Competitive Landscape

Tallia's €4 million round reflects growing European investment in AI-powered tax solutions. Funding for AI-native tax and accounting technology in Europe reached approximately €35.6 million in financing in 2026. This activity includes several other startups securing investment for similar or adjacent solutions.
