Cognitive Credit Secures $40 Million for AI Credit Analysis
Cognitive Credit has secured a $40 million strategic growth investment led by Summit Partners to scale its AI-driven credit data platform.

Cognitive Credit secured a €35.73 million ($40 million) strategic growth investment led by Summit Partners. The London-based provider of corporate credit data and AI technology will use the capital to accelerate its global commercial expansion and next-generation product development.
The investment round included continued participation from existing investor ETFS Capital. Summit Partners, a global growth equity firm founded in 1984 with offices in North America and Europe, has invested in more than 550 companies. Chris Bon, a Partner at Summit Partners, has joined the Cognitive Credit Board of Directors.
Platform Capabilities and Market Coverage
Cognitive Credit's AI-powered platform provides auditable and traceable outputs based on proprietary data extracted from hundreds of thousands of financial reports. It covers more than 3,500 corporate bond and loan issuers across the U.S., Europe, and emerging markets.
The company powers analytical workflows for nearly 80% of the top 25 global asset managers by assets under management. It also serves all top 10 global debt league table investment banks. The company has doubled its global bond and loan issuer coverage in the past three years.
| Coverage Area | Detail |
|---|---|
| Issuers Covered | 3,500+ corporate bond and loan issuers |
| Top Asset Managers Served | Nearly 80% of top 25 global firms by AUM |
| Top Investment Banks Served | All top 10 global debt league table banks |
| Coverage Growth | Doubled in past three years |
The platform includes a web application, Excel add-in, REST API, and a Claude Connector. It was built by ex-credit analysts to address the limitations of equity market tools for credit analysis, where much fundamental data is unstructured or shared privately.
Growth and Product Expansion
The company achieved 240% active user growth over the past three years. This new funding follows a €8.93 million ($10 million) Series B round in September 2024 and a €7.17 million (£6 million) Series A in November 2021. Cognitive Credit was founded in 2017 by CEO Robert Slater.
The credit market's massive scale underpins the demand for specialized systems. According to the OECD’s Global Debt Report 2026, the corporate credit market is valued at nearly €12.5 trillion ($14 trillion) as of 2025, with close to $14 trillion in corporate bonds and loans raised in that year alone. Demand is rising due to fragmented disclosures across thousands of public and private companies.
Chris Bon of Summit Partners highlighted the strategic need. "High-quality data at speed and scale is critical to powering AI workflows that credit professionals will increasingly rely on for high-stakes decisions," he said.
Cognitive Credit plans to launch a product called DealConnect for on-demand access to credit models for private issuers via secure data rooms. The company is also deploying agentic credit analysis to automate deep fundamental research using AI on verified data, with deployment targeted for 2027.
