Norwegian HR tech startup Fronted has raised €1.7 million in seed funding to accelerate its AI-driven platform for global hiring and expansion, aiming to simplify cross-border employment.

Fronted raised approximately €1.7 million in a seed funding round. The Norwegian HR tech startup will use the capital to accelerate sales, develop product prototypes and manufacturing processes, and expand its team and operational infrastructure from 20 to 70 countries.
Platform and market positioning
Fronted provides an AI-native platform that combines cross-border recruitment, Employer of Record services, and legal entity setup and management. Its technology automates recurring administrative processes while accounting for local labour laws and employment requirements.

Fronted serves close to 100 businesses across Europe and the United States. Its annual recurring revenue increased fourfold over the twelve months preceding the announcement. The company, headquartered in Norway, currently operates in more than 20 countries with a distributed team of 30 employees across ten nations. It now plans to extend its coverage to 70 countries.

Marius Blaker Høgevold is the co-founder and CEO. Co-founder Hans Nyvold Kjellby previously co-founded the Y Combinator-backed company SafetyWing. Strategic rationale from investors
Investors highlighted the role of AI automation in making global employment services more scalable and cost-effective. Tone Kvåle, Investment Manager at Skagerak Capital, stated that global employment presents a key opportunity where software can perform the work itself, making the model better and cheaper through automation. Patrik Hamilton, CEO of Kaknäs Invest, noted that Employer of Record and entity management are among the fastest-growing categories in global HR tech. He said Fronted's AI-native architecture makes it structurally different and more scalable than traditional approaches. Fronted will now accelerate sales and expand its operational infrastructure from 20 to 70 countries.
