Neonomics Secures €4 Million After Leadership Transition
Neonomics has appointed Alfonso Muñoz as CEO and raised €4 million in fresh capital from existing shareholders to scale its open finance operations, following a major cost restructuring and strong customer growth.

Norwegian fintech Neonomics has secured €4 million in new funding and appointed Alfonso Muñoz as its Chief Executive Officer. The capital injection from existing shareholders will accelerate the scaling of its open finance infrastructure and data services.
Muñoz joined the Oslo-based company as Chief Financial Officer in 2025 before stepping into the Interim CEO role in February 2026. The leadership transition was finalized ahead of this latest funding announcement, positioning the firm for its next growth phase.
Funding purpose and growth targets
The new €4 million investment will be deployed to scale core business operations and expand the company's suite of consumer-facing services. A key focus is the development of higher-value financial data products. The funding will support growth in open banking payments and exploration of new opportunities. Specifically, the capital is earmarked for expanding services in personal finance, accounting, enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, and other data-centric offerings.
Market traction and customer growth
Neonomics has seen a significant surge in demand since the start of the year. New customer acquisition has increased by more than 60% since the beginning of 2026. This growth is driven by both its payments initiation and financial data access businesses. The company identifies substantial opportunities in consumer financial services, personal finance management, accounting software, and ERP systems, which are fueling this customer expansion.
Strategic context and licensing
Operating under a Norwegian Financial Supervisory Authority licence, Neonomics is authorised as a Payment Institution, Payment Initiation Service Provider, and Account Information Service Provider across the European Union. This regulatory foundation supports its pan-European bank network. The company's infrastructure connects businesses to over 3,500 banks, covering more than 20 million Nordic consumers.
The company provides open finance infrastructure that includes financial data access, data intelligence, verification, and payment services. It helps other businesses build financial products and simplify workflows through integrated financial data and account-to-account payments. Its product suite, marketed under the Nello brand, includes Nello Data, Nello AI, and Nello Pay.
This growth push follows a period of strategic restructuring. Neonomics reduced its operating cost base by nearly 50%, creating a leaner operation. Alfonso Muñoz said: "We have fundamentally strengthened Neonomics, creating a more focused and efficient business with a clear direction for growth."
The roadmap now focuses on scaling consumer-facing financial services and expanding the Nello product suite with the fresh capital.
