Beyond Vision has secured over €28 million in a funding round to scale production and expand globally. The investment was co-led by Índico Capital Partners and Lince Capital, with existing shareholder ActiveCap making a follow-on investment.

The capital injection will give the company the financial robustness to compete globally in autonomous unmanned vehicles. It plans to scale its industrial production capacity and accelerate research and development in advanced AI algorithms and swarm technology. The funds will also consolidate commercial expansion into new international markets, with a focus on defense, security, and critical infrastructure monitoring.

CEO Dário Pedro stated the investment will strengthen operational infrastructure. "Beyond Vision has redefined this market by combining high-precision hardware with advanced artificial intelligence algorithms at a very competitive cost," he said. The company also plans to accelerate development of its cloud management platform functionalities.

Leadership and company background

The Lisbon-based startup was founded in 2013 and is led by CEO Dário Pedro and Chairman Luís Miguel Campos. Beyond Vision is a manufacturer of unmanned aerial systems and vehicles. It became an officially registered NATO supplier and has won numerous awards for its drone quality.

Client expansion and market position

The company has broadened its client base across military and civilian sectors, reinforcing its market standing. It specialises in dual-use advanced unmanned aerial vehicle technology and AI algorithms. Beyond Vision develops collaborative autonomous systems with AI capabilities for civil and military applications, integrating multiple parallel communication systems and AI into its aircraft. Its cloud-based platform, beXStream, uses AI and automation for remote drone control.

In 2025, Beyond Vision signed a €15 million contract in the United States to supply 300 emergency drones by 2028.

Investor perspective and geopolitical advantage

Investors highlighted the strategic value of sovereign, AI-driven drone technology amid heightened defense investment in Europe. Stephan de Moraes, Managing General Partner at Índico Capital Partners, stated that reliance on new, reliable, and sovereign technology is a strategic priority in defense, infrastructure management, and security sectors.

Tomás Lavin Peixe, Head of Venture Capital at Lince Capital, noted the current geopolitical context creates new opportunities for international technology companies. The company plans to open a US factory in 2027 with a €50 million investment.
