Veridue Raises $4M Pre-Seed for Energy Deal Platform

Veridue has secured $4 million in pre-seed funding to grow its AI-powered platform for due diligence and mergers and acquisitions in the energy infrastructure sector. The round was led by Episode 1 Ventures, with participation from HTGF and Pi Labs, plus industry investors like Aurora Energy Research co-founder Cameron Hepburn and former QuantumBlack CEO Jeremy Palmer.
Founded in 2024 by Daniel Csonth and Xander van denEelaart, the company targets the complex workflows of financing, acquiring, and selling renewable energy and data centre assets. Demand for such infrastructure is surging, but so are the complications. Grid connection delays, planning risks, and long development timelines make ready-to-build assets more attractive. Hybrid projects that combine technologies like solar or wind with battery storage add further layers of complexity.
Platform Capabilities for Buyers and Investors
For investors, independent power producers, lenders, and insurers, Veridue consolidates deal origination, screening, data rooms, and due diligence into one system. It offers pipeline management and deal recommendations based on specific investment criteria. The company claims its platform allows buyers to assess many more opportunities and complete parts of the diligence process in hours instead of weeks.
Tools for Project Developers and Sellers
On the other side of a transaction, the platform provides an automated data room for developers and sellers. It organises documents and generates key materials like investment-readiness reports and vendor due diligence reports. These tools are designed to help projects achieve investment readiness faster and identify potential issues earlier in the sales process.
Founder and Investor Perspectives
Daniel Csonth, founder and CEO of Veridue, explained the platform's foundation. "We built Veridue as the solution we wished we had when we were the ones carrying the risk on a decision," he said. "It is AI trained on a proprietary dataset of real deals and their diligence outcomes, running on our own purpose-built agent layer to ensure results are deterministic with 100% traceable accuracy."
Timo Bertsch, Investment Manager at lead investor HTGF, highlighted the market need. "The infrastructure Europe needs, renewables, data centres, grid capacity, represents one of the most critical buildouts of our generation. Capital is ready."
Use of New Funding
The new capital will support the rollout of Veridue's platform to buyers, investors, lenders, and project developers involved in energy infrastructure transactions. The funding announcement was reported by tech.eu.
