FRYTE Mobility raises €3.5M for eTruck

FRYTE Mobility, a Munich-based tech startup, has closed a €3.5 million Seed funding round. The company is building a central software platform to connect logistics and energy systems for electric truck operations.

The funding was co-led by 4impact capital and Rethink Ventures. Existing investors Revent, F-LOG, accilium ventures and a group of angel investors also participated. This round brings FRYTE's total funding raised to €5 million.

The coordination gap in eTruck logistics

Operating electric trucks requires reliable charging, but a significant planning gap exists. Transport management systems typically plan routes without visibility into charging availability. Meanwhile, charge point operators run their stations with no advance notice of arriving trucks or their energy needs. According to the source, logistics and energy sectors are effectively planning the same journey in separate silos.

FRYTE's platform aims to bridge this divide. Its open software infrastructure connects logistics platforms with Charge Point Management Systems using industry standards like OCPI. By unifying tour planning and energy demands, FRYTE enables real-time, cross-border advance bookings. This delivers guaranteed charging slots for fleet operators and predictable utilisation for charge point operators.

Building the horizontal layer

The startup argues that the current market is filled with vertical point solutions. FRYTE is instead constructing what it calls the horizontal coordination layer. Pauline Wink, Founding Partner at lead investor 4impact capital, explained the rationale behind the investment.

Wink stated that electric trucks are nearing total cost of ownership parity with diesel in several European countries. Europe's CO2 mandates are further accelerating the shift toward electric heavy-duty transport. "That takes the continent from tens of thousands of eTrucks today to hundreds of thousands by 2030," Wink said. "What is missing is not more chargers or more software, but a layer that makes logistics, charging and energy systems work together."

She praised FRYTE's founders, Max and Sebastian, for their deep focus on this specific problem from the start. "That combination of timing and depth is rare, and it is why we invested," Wink concluded.

Platform progress and next steps

FRYTE's technology is already fully operational across multi-provider charging sites. The company reports it has processed over 200 end-to-end bookings, spanning from dispatcher planning through to driver execution and final confirmation from the charge point operator.

Sebastian Wolff, CTO and co-founder of FRYTE Mobility, highlighted the importance of open standards. "Charging infrastructure only works at scale if it connects across operators, and that only happens through open standards," Wolff said. He noted that the charging-side integration is live, and the next milestone is deeper integration with the transport management domain.

The new capital will be used to expand FRYTE's commercial team and to deepen integrations with charge point operators and their management systems. The company will also continue developing its reservation functionality. This follows recent pilot milestones with partners including TRATON Charging Solutions with MAN Charge & Go, FIEGE, Fraport AG, Energie Südbayern and Dettendorfer Energy.
