Conveo has raised $50 million in Series A funding to expand its AI-powered consumer intelligence platform in the US

Consumer research firm Conveo has secured $50 million in a Series A funding round. The investment will fuel the company's US expansion and the development of its platform into a broader consumer intelligence infrastructure for enterprises.

The round was backed by DST Global Partners, Balderton Capital, Visionaries, 6 Degrees Capital, and Y Combinator. This brings Conveo's total funding to $55.8 million. The company was founded by Dieter De Mesmaeker and Hendrik Van Hove.

More than 400 enterprises use its platform, including over 50 Fortune 500 companies. Notable customers include Google, Unilever, AB InBev, and Canva.

The problem with traditional research

Conveo addresses limitations in traditional market research methods. Surveys can provide broad feedback but lack depth. Focus groups and interviews, meanwhile, are often too time-consuming and costly to run at a large scale.

Research is also typically organized around individual projects. This leaves findings fragmented across different studies. Companies struggle to maintain a current, unified view of shifting consumer behavior as a result.

An AI-powered research interviewer

The company's initial product is an AI-powered research interviewer. It conducts in-depth video conversations with consumers. This technology allows firms to run qualitative research across multiple markets simultaneously.

The platform supports various study types. These include in-home sessions where participants demonstrate product use. It also handles research into consumer needs, behavior, pricing, and brand perception.

The system supports several research methodologies:

Insights from these conversations feed into a shared consumer intelligence layer. Teams can search this repository using natural language. They access data through dashboards, AI agents, and integrations with existing business software.

Building continuous knowledge with StoryLines

Conveo is now expanding with a product called StoryLines. It is designed to run research continuously on topics of strategic importance to a client. Instead of treating each project in isolation, StoryLines adds new findings to an evolving knowledge base.

This knowledge base can be use across product, marketing, and strategy teams. According to Conveo, the StoryLines product has already secured multi-million-dollar enterprise contracts.

CEO Dieter De Mesmaeker explained the company's approach. "Brands need AI that is deeply knowledgeable about their market and grounded in real-world data," he said. "We have built the infrastructure to gather, structure and synthesize consumer data at unprecedented scale."

The new capital will support the US push and further platform development. The goal is to extend the technology's role beyond single research projects. Conveo aims to become integral to broader enterprise decision-making processes.
