CloudNC raises $20M to scale AI machining
CloudNC secured $20 million in funding led by Nimble Ventures to expand its AI-driven manufacturing software, CAM Assist, and develop new products like

London-based CloudNC has raised $20 million in new investment. The funding round was led by Nimble Ventures, with participation from Calculus Venture Capital, Entrepreneur First, and LM Ventures, the venture capital fund of Lockheed Martin.
The company's core product, CAM Assist, uses artificial intelligence to automate the creation of CNC machining strategies and toolpaths. This process drastically cuts the time needed to move a part from design to production. Skilled machine operators can thereby significantly increase their output.
For machine shops, the software promises greater throughput, improved efficiency, and more consistent results. It also aims to use the existing expertise within a team. CloudNC reports that its technology is now used by over 1,000 machine shops worldwide, with hundreds in the United States and rapid growth in new markets.
Founder's focus on customer needs
CEO and co-founder Theo Saville stated that the pressure on manufacturers is intense. "Machine shops everywhere are under pressure to quote and program faster, and deliver more with the people and machines they already have," he said.
Saville explained the investment's purpose. It will keep the company focused on enhancing CAM Assist, expanding into more markets, and developing new AI products. These new tools are intended to tackle critical bottlenecks across entire machining workflows.
Strategic expansion and new products
The capital injection supports CloudNC's transition from early adoption to broader commercial scale. The company will bolster its go-to-market operations, including commercial presence, customer support, and partner activities in high-growth regions. Existing customers include Lockheed Martin and Major Tool and Machine.
A new product, Quote Agent, is slated for release later in 2026. This AI application targets the quoting and estimating process. CloudNC aims to help manufacturers respond to customer inquiries faster, reduce administrative work, and improve confidence in early job assessments.
Targeting government and defense contracts
In a significant move for regulated industries, CloudNC is working with Knox Systems to pursue FedRAMP certification for CAM Assist. This certification would allow U.S. Government agencies, defense contractors, and other organizations with strict security needs to use the software for sensitive manufacturing projects.
Investor John Burbank, founder of Nimble Ventures, highlighted the strategic implication of CloudNC's automation. He believes it "will enable massive increases in onshoring of manufacturing and global production of mission-critical components." The funding solidifies CloudNC's position to scale its AI-driven approach to modern precision manufacturing.
